An update from Zambia

‘The pandemic has been very devastating for most of our people.’

Jack Ngoma, CEO of MicroLoan Zambia tells you about the impact of COVID-19 in Zambia in conversation with Palak Bhatt, Trusts and Foundations Fundraising Manager.

He speaks about the outbreak in the district of Kafue where MicroLoan has a branch, and how our team has adapted to keep supporting our clients. Jack has seen first-hand how women in rural communities have been disproportionately affected. 91% of our beneficiaries in Zambia reported they are financially worse off as a result of COVID.

Despite the challenges faced during the pandemic, MicroLoan has increased our number of beneficiaries in Zambia from around 16,000 to almost 20,000 women to try to help as many people as possible during this difficult time. These incredible results are testament to our amazing team in Zambia.

Find out how MicroLoan Zambia has adapted in order to keep supporting women facing extreme poverty. Enjoy the conversation in the video below and share your thoughts in the comments section of YouTube.
