Change the future of a child living in poverty this Christmas

When you invest in a woman, you invest in her children.

As the year draws to an end, our attention often shifts to the future. But as we make our plans for the New Year ahead, the future is far less certain for others.

For many of the women MicroLoan Foundation support, giving their children the opportunities that they never had remains a priority. Top of that list is the chance of an education. But all too often when a crisis hits, like the current famine, children are taken out of school to help at home. Their parents have little choice.

Please donate now to help lift a family out of poverty this Christmas.

When you give to MicroLoan Foundation this Christmas, you will make an even bigger difference. Two of our long standing supporters have generously offered to match any gifts we raise from this appeal up to £20,000. So all donations received by 31st December will be doubled.

You can donate online, bank transfer or by cheque. All details can be found here.

Here’s how your gift can help:

10

can provide a starting loan to some of our poorest clients

50

can provide a woman with the loan she needs to set up her business and start changing her life

500

can provide loans and training for one woman for a year

Our goal is to be able to help 100,000 women each year give over 400,000 children the opportunity of a better life. Please help us to do that by making a donation today here.

Give hope this Christmas. Not handouts.

At MicroLoan we support women with small loans and training so that they can start a small business to earn a regular income. But we also teach all our clients the importance of saving. When a woman starts her business, she starts to save and build her family a ‘safety net’, giving her the chance to keep her children in school, even when times are tough. In fact 60% less of our client’s children now drop out of school to help the family at home.

Olipa Zimba is just one example of a child whose life has changed since their mother started with MicroLoan. Read Olipa’s story here.
