Currently we have an established network of 20 branches in Malawi
supported by over 100 local staff. Having built up a successful first
operation there, we have started to develop the model in neighbouring
sub-Saharan countries.
In May 2009 we made our first loan in Zambia and our initial branch is
progressing well with over 300 clients. Read about our first Zambian
client here. We have also just established an operation in northern
Namibia.
MicroLoan recognises the impact that a small amount of money can have on the lives of the poorest. We believe in starting small to incite big changes. Expanding, whilst not losing site of our core values, is important as well as adapting the model to suit different local environments.
