Fundraise for MicroLoan

Want to do something amazing?

If you want to challenge yourself, have fun, meet new people and change lives while you're at it, we'd love to hear from you.

MicroLoan has been extremely lucky to have had the generous support of volunteer fundraisers doing a whole host of things to raise money for us - from participating in our Walk to Work to swimming across the width of Lake Malawi.

Any ideas, from the sublime to the ridiculous are all supported by us hear to enable the maximum coverage and sponsorship for your effort.

To speak to us about any ideas you have please contact alice.leslie@microloanfoundation.org.uk

Here's a few ideas....

Enter a team for Global Challenge UK ’s Open 3 Peaks Challenge.  Walk the UK's highest summits within 24 hours this summer. The challenge comprises in excess of 11,000ft of climbing, 20 miles of walking and 500 miles of driving.

Engage your community

The fabulous Mahmuda Jafarey, club pro at Hartswood Tennis Club, hosts its annual fundraiser where local children are encouraged to take part in a tennis relay to fundraise for MicroLoan.

Pyjama Party

Moonies

Instead of lounging around in their pyjamas, a group of eight enterprising sixth formers at Oundle School in Northamptonshire hit on the idea of producing their own for charity.  These unisex pyjamas, designed, manufactured and sold by the pupils at a cost of £23 have so far raised over £2,000 for MicroLoan in 2010.

Project Manager, Sarah Bury, says that as a result of this venture, "a number of us have plans to visit Malawi in our gap year to see exactly how our money is helping people."  For more information, visit www.mooniesclothing.com.

And the old favourite....26.2 miles of pain....the Marathon!

Nick Ross-McCall marathon

Nick Ross-McCall from Ashurst took part in the Edinburgh Marathon in scorching weather in May and raised £1,250 for MicroLoan by completing the event.

In Nick’s words: “I was delighted to get the opportunity to run on behalf of my favourite charity and to raise funds which can be recycled from one loan group to another and so go much further than 26 miles.” The photo below was taken as he neared the finishing line.
